Marie Skłodowska-Curie post-doctoral fellowship to Dr. Beth Elness-Hanson
Dr. Beth Elness-Hanson – Associate Professor of Hebrew Bible at Wartburg Theological Seminary (Dubuque, Iowa) and Adjunct Associate Professor at VID Specialized University (Stavanger, Norway), has been awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie post-doctoral fellowship funded by the European Union. The grant is entitled “Ontological Bridge-building for Climate Change Mitigation in Maasailand.”
It is a multidisciplinary project that builds bridges across clashing climate change understandings in Tanzania. The collaboration with trusted local leaders leverages existing educational and social systems within the Lutheran church in Tanzania for creation care. The project will develop pedagogical resources for educating and equipping with the best practices of creation care that are strategically designed for the Maasai people group, including culturally sensitive bible studies.
The project is linked to VID Specialized University, Stavanger, and as her colleagues, we are thrilled about the grant as well as the project!
