At the Annual Meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature in San Diego in November 2024, The African Biblical Hermeneutic Section surprised Professor Knut Holter with a session that celebrated his contributions to African biblical studies and the publishing a year previously of a Festschrift for him, Context Matters: Old Testament Essays from Africa and Beyond Honoring Knut Holter.
